Latest advancements in Cancer Diagnosis
I think it all started with the Human Genome Project way back in 2005, when it got completed, it allowed us a different dimension into healthcare and treatment of the diseases. Since then there has been a lot of advancement in technologies like next generation sequencing and data sciences which now allows us to get into a completely new era of what we call precision medicine. Today the cancer care is not what it used to be 5-10 years back, where the treatment was in a very empirical way. Today, the treatment for cancer is more personalized, it essentially looks at the molecular profile of the cancer tumor tissues and based on that, the right treatment is identified for the right patient. That’s what currently is the trend.
